The platform life boat davit is a hinged platform type davit, which lowers the boat by the help of its own weight. The life boat is lowered without stopping, as turning out and lowering of the platform davit is a continuous motion. Recovery of the life boat is done by the use of a permanently mounted motor on the winch.
